Paul has extensive litigation experience in business and real estate disputes. He has developed a special concentration in the area of eminent domain, representing landowners as well as governmental entities in numerous such lawsuits, involving millions of dollars. Paul has successfully represented numerous owners in ranch power line takings, pipeline cases, and highway construction cases. Paul also represents governmental entities in construction disputes, and has represented contractors and subcontractors in private disputes. He also has extensive experience handling complex business dissolution and injunction
cases.
A former Air Force Aviator, Paul began his legal career as a United States Air Force Judge Advocate General. As a JAG Captain, he prosecuted and defended numerous court-martial trials involving felony-level offenses. He finalized his military career as a Civil Litigation Attorney in Washington, D.C. representing the Air Force in Federal Courts throughout the country. Paul, formerly a shareholder with Oppenheimer, Blend, Harrison & Tate, Inc. established Barkhurst & Hinojosa, P.C. in February 2010, and continues to provide legal services to private individuals as well as governmental agencies and entities.
